Day 22 - Quaranbirthday
2020 April 8
Wednesday
9:00pm:
Today #Kid6, my youngest, turned 1 year old.
It isn’t how I had expected to celebrate her birthday, but as our families live out of province and we no longer live in a close urban neighborhood near the bulk of our local friends, it probably wasn’t much different than it would have been otherwise.
We took the traditional photo in the Birthday Shirt and tutu. She was given a pink hydrangea for her birthday flowers, which we will plant in the garden when it is warmer. We made her favorite food (peas), and then made a massive batch of perogies for everyone else. There was cake — though I ended up shifting gears at the last minute and decided to make a carrot cake instead of lemon.
As per her older sisters’ requests, she received her own Grimm’s rainbow as a gift. Hers is the sunset rainbow — my last baby, now moving into toddlerhood, and drawing a line between then and now in what feels like a big transition for me.
