Review: Green Beaver Sunscreen Products*

Summer is fast upon us and with it the usual scramble for sunscreen. My search for a safe and effective sunscreen for my family has caused me headaches in the past -- so many were super oily or really thick and difficult to rub into the skin. This year, the Green Beaver Company, based in Hawkesbury, ON, released its organic SPF 30 sunscreen on the market. I was given a sample of their Kids SPF 30 Sunscreen and of their organic SPF 15 Lip Moisturizer to review, and I have to say I am mightily impressed!

Their sunscreen scores a laudable 1 on the EWG's Cosmetic Database --the go-to destination to verify the safety of cosmetics. It's non-whitening non-sticky formula smoothes onto the skin quickly and easily, and the slight oiliness noticed upon application is quickly absorbed into the skin. I don't feel as though it's clogging my pores -- a regular complaint with most other sunscreens -- and when it promises to be unscented it delivers!

The Lip Moisturizer is also wonderful. It's non-whitening formula really moisturizes and will probably become my lip balm of choice for summer.

Overall, I love these products. I am so happy to finally have a wonderful made-in-Canada sunscreen that I can trust -- happier that it is organic! I give it 2 thumbs up!
