Proactiv: The Recap*

A little over a month ago, I received a month's supply of Proactiv to try out. I was full of questions:  Would it work? Could it live up to the hype? I diligently followed the twice-daily 3-step cleansing process and what I found was this:  My skin has been clearer for the past month than prior to treatment, the texture of my skin seems softer to touch, and I have fewer clogged pores.

My results could be less dramatic than what some others have experienced because I think the worst of my issues are hormonally-driven, but I certainly notice a difference. Most of all, I think my skin benefited from the twice-daily exfoliation -- this is something I'm going to try and do more regularly. Previous to trying Proactiv, I only used a scrub a few times a week.

The biggest downsides of this treatment were needing to be very careful about what touched my face after using the products, due to the bleaching nature of the ingredients, and their chemical composition. I'm not adverse to using chemically-based products if nothing else works, but I prefer not to make a habit of it. I could see myself not using this treatment all the time but, instead, using it for a week or so when my regular routine fails me.

Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences using Proactiv and would recommend it to anyone who finds a regular cleansing routine isn't quite enough.

I'll post an "after" picture as soon as I find my camera! ;)
