Recipe: Biscotti

Biscotti makes a great hostess gift for dinner parties, a lovely accompaniment to a gift of freshly roasted coffee beans, or as a sweet indulgence for yourself when hanging those stockings on Christmas Eve.

It's that time of year again -- the time of year where I make big, ambitious lists for myself of all the amazing homemade gifts I'm going to give and then realize I don't have quite as much time as I need, considering I have to send most of them to Nova Scotia by mail. ;) There are, however, lots of great gifts that can be made at home that don't require a lot of time and I'm sharing some ideas from this year's list!

It's that time of year -- dry skin and scratchy lips are a couple things I really dislike about winter. This recipe puts a bit of shimmer back into your smile while moisturizing your skin. It's simple to blend and makes a lot, so be sure to pass on the bounty to your friends and family!

A number of years ago, suffering holiday burnout, I decided to simplify my holidays. Under the "keeping it simple, keeping it fun" motto, I issued myself an annual gifting challenge -- one year everything had to be "previously loved", discovered in thrift stores and antique shops. Another year, I used reusable wrappings for everything -- tea towels and fabric ribbons make great wrapping paper and a gal can never have too many new tea towels! What are your holiday strategies to keep the holidays fun and stress-free?

Like to make gifts, but are pushed for time? Want to give homemade, but feel uncreative? Essential oil reed diffusers are easy to make with extra points for presentation -- they look so pretty when done! They are also a welcome, more natural way to fill a home with lovely scents!
