Hi.

Welcome to my place.

I write about about being a 40-something mum of five wonderfully exasperating children, attachment parenting, my adventures in the kitchen, and whatever else comes to mind.

Quixotic

Do you ever wonder, as I often wonder, if your perception of "Normal" is directly impacted by the decidedly atypical company that you keep? This relates to a rather vivid and amusing rendezvous with my own imagination while gardening this afternoon, pertaining to Depression-era or WWII-era cosplay.  I find myself quite hankering after a set of britches and braces and a really snazzy hat -- or something similar to John Cusack's look in The Journey of Natty Gann. (Would this be a good time to mention that Meredith Salenger was my first real "girl celebrity" crush? It's probably also when my who "girl, as boy" fascination began.. )

Or something reminiscent of John-Boy Walton.. Yes, that would be much closer. :)

How Sad Is It?
