Recipe: Great Grammie's Molasses Cookies

This recipe started out as an approximation of what my grandmother would toss into a mixing bowl — “a little of this, a pinch of that” interpreted and transcribed by me into “cups” and “teaspoons”. After making many batches over several years, I finally tweaked it to a point where I was content to add it to my “Family Recipes” cookbook, and now I’m going to share it with you.

My husband and second son are returning from a week long Scouts Canada exchange in Newfoundland this weekend, and I will be whipping up couple racks of ribs to welcome them home.

Recipe: 4-3-2-1 Refrigerator Muffins

Now that we are a family of 6, regular-sized muffin recipes don't cut the mustard. A dozen muffins will disappear over breakfast, and the kids will still be looking for more. This recipe make 5 dozen, which keeps us going for a few days.

If you don't want to make them all at once, you can keep the extra batter in the fridge for up to 6 weeks for muffins "on demand"!

Recipe: Lemonade Cake

Birthday cakes should be decadent. "First birthday" cakes should be extra decadent! I made this cake for #MissVee's first birthday and it was rich and moist, and turbo-charged with lemon. It is a family favourite, and well worth the effort.
